On average, dogs and cats can have up to 12 pups or kittens per litter which is a lot of responsibility. Many pet owners who want to prevent this from happening choose to spay or neuter their pets. Although spaying and neutering are routine procedures, our staff still follows strict protocols to ensure your pet's safety during surgery. To book an appointment for your pet, call us at 250-478-4075.
These procedures are performed on pets to prevent them from having kittens and puppies. Neutering is performed on male pets, while spaying is for females. During spay surgery, an incision is made on the abdomen, and the ovaries and uterus are removed. When a pet is neutered, the testicles are removed.
In general, we recommend pets have the procedure when they are around 6-months-old. If your pet is older, it is still possible for them to have the procedure; our team will check to ensure they are healthy enough to withstand the surgery.

The surgery can extend your pet’s life. By preventing diseases and reducing your pet’s exposure to harm, they will live longer.
